CERAMENT is the result of a research project set up by Professor Lars Lidgren, to develop a synthetic bone substitute that could replace autograft and was ‘designed to fit a range of criteria that would benefit both the patient and the surgeon’ (Malin Nilsson, inventor of CERAMENT, Lund University Thesis).
