Patients undergoing revision arthroplasty have consistently been reported to be at higher risk of infection in comparison to primary arthroplasty, with infection rates of 7.9% – 33% reported, irrespective of whether a one or two-stage approach is used. In addition, bone loss becomes an increasing problem with every revision.

Injectability and flowability means it can be placed in areas that are difficult to access, and ensures complete defect filling.
